Roadworks on the A1 in Northumberland this week

Alnwick: There will be a carriageway closures for bridge maintenance work. The southbound will be closed on Thursday, Friday and then Monday, May 23, and the northbound carriageway will be closed Tuesday, May 24. All the closures will be between 8pm and 6am.

Felton to Denwick: There will be phases of lane closures north and southbound for inspection work. This will take place until tomorrow between 9am and 4pm.

Morpeth: There will be work ongoing until the end of 2016 for the construction of a bypass. There will be various phases of daytime and night-time lane and carriageway closures, with narrow lanes and a 40mph speed restriction in place. There will also be a 24-hour lane closure in place north and southbound until the project is completed.

Further south, at the Holystone interchange, there will be various phases of carriageway, lane and slip-road closures to carry out essential bridge maintenance works to the A19 Coast Railway bridge. This will take place until Wednesday, May 25, between 8pm and 6am.
