Rowing contest to support The Four Oarsmen
The Four Oarsmen, aka Pete Robinson and Dicky Taylor, both Northumbrian born, as well as George Biggar and Stuart Watts, are planning to tackle the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge.
Starting in December, the team plans to row 3,000 nautical miles across the world’s second largest ocean, in aid of MIND – the mental-health charity, and Spinal Research.

Hide AdLand, property and business consultancy George F White – which has an office in Alnwick – has agreed to sponsor The Oarsmen’s attempt.
As part of this, a team from George F White will be going against Pete in a rowing competition at Alnwick Rugby Club on Saturday – to help raise funds and awareness of the charities.
The competition will start at 4.30pm, after the Alnwick versus Driffield match, and people are encouraged to come along and show support.
Pete – a first-team player at Alnwick and from West Ditchburn Farm, near Eglingham – said: “I’m looking forward to the challenge as it will really help to raise awareness for our Atlantic crossing and, most importantly, for two great charities.
“I hope George F White realise what they’re in for as I will not be giving up easily.”
