Youngsters at a county school are now the owners of a defibriliator thanks to the fundraising efforts of a local resident.
Eric Adams teamed up with local charity North East Hearts With Goals and ran the London Marathon to raise money to secure and locate potentially life saving defibrillators in Cramlington.
Mr Adams, who presented the defibrillator to Cramlington Learning Village, said: “Although we hope it never has to be used, a defibrillator increases the chances of survival to between 70 and 90 per cent and I’m delighted to have helped to place defibrillators in schools and sports clubs in Cramlington.”
Julie Mosley, head of the Junior Learning Village said: “We’re immensely grateful to Mr Adams for his fundraising efforts and to his supporters, whose generosity has enabled a defibrillator to be available.”
