High school pupils were certainly safe and sound on their latest outing.
Year 8 students from Bedlingtonshire Community High School visited the Safety Works centre in Whickham to learn about the risks in a number of areas.
They visited different activity stations, including a house where they had a fire safety session and a mock Metro station for railway safety, with warnings about overhead cables, pushing and shoving, and going on the line.
The youngsters were also told of the dangers of drugs and alcohol, and visited a mock A&E department for a workshop.
Anti-social behaviour was also covered.
