Santa Claus will be making a special visit to the region’s newest hospital.
He will be visiting the new NHS Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, in Cramlington, at noon on Christmas Day.
Santa will stop off first to see patients on the Children’s Ward to deliver presents and smiles to those spending Christmas in hospital.
Afterwards he will then visit the other wards to hand out presents to patients and members of staff, supported by his helper ‘Marshall’ the snowman.
The gifts have been donated by Batleys in Chester-le-Street and is the brainchild of the NSECH General Porters, who have been supported by Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
A spokesperson said: “Lets all wish the children and adults who are spending Christmas in hospital a special Christmas prayer.”
