Staff and pupils at a Blyth primary school are celebrating receiving a hat-trick of awards.
Malvin’s Close Primary Academy has been awarded the Primary Science Mark Gold, Arts Mark Gold, and the Enthuse Award for STEM.
Headteacher Alison Nicholson said: “It is wonderful news to be able to celebrate these awards with such hard-working staff.
“It’s a real achievement and a brilliant opportunity for all the pupils.”
“We are growing the next generation of scientific thinkers, inventors and engineers.
Working alongside a number of the north east’s most prominent employers such as Nestle, Nissan and the Newcastle United Foundation, the school now has plans to put a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) strategy in place.
And it is hoped the Malvin’s Close youngsters will be inspired by guest speakers and visits to the factories to see how maths and science is actually put into practice in the working world.
