A TOP talent show in the county is returning and is on the look out for new talent.
Northumberland’s Got Talent, which has been running since 2009, will take place as part of The Big Event II at Attlee Park in Bedlington on Saturday, May 25.
Previous winners have included dancing duo K&C – alias Kaitlyn Wright and Connor Scott – singer Chloe Wealleans-Watts, and most recently the ‘Cat in the Hat’, Lucy Conroy.
The Big Event II is being headed up by local charity Leading Link, which organised a similar event for the Diamond Jubilee celebrations last June.
It is organising the family fun day to help recapture the spirit of Bedlington as part of a wider local heritage project, thanks to a funding grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Auditions for Northumberland’s Got Talent will take place on a booking only system on Thursday, May 9, from 3.30pm to 6.30pm at The Lodge, in the grounds of St Benet Biscop High School in Bedlington.
The finals will then be judged by a specially collated panel of experts.
Jonny Hall, from Leading Link, said: “Northumberland’s Got Talent has been so successful for us in the past that we felt the need to bring it back, and this event seemed like the perfect platform for such a competition.”
The winner of Northumberland’s Got Talent will perform to a sell-out crowd at a red carpet event, as part of Leading Link’s annual celebration in the first week of July.
The deadline for applications is Friday, May 3.
