People are being given the opportunity to share ideas about how certain areas of the new specialist emergency care hospital are furnished and decorated.
Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s event is being held today (Thursday), where people will be able to give their thoughts on how the multi-faith room, garden and quiet areas will look.
Brenda Longstaff, charity and volunteer senior lead officer at Northumbria Healthcare, said: “We are very excited about the opening of our new hospital in 2015. We want it to be the very best it can be; where our patients receive first-class healthcare in a first-class environment.
“This, of course, takes a lot of planning. Research tells us that the right hospital environment can lower anxiety levels, create a calm ambience and provide the small and interesting distractions to help us forget where we are – even for just a minute.
“We are offering the opportunity for members of the public to come along and share their thoughts on how several key areas in the new hospital will look like.
“This is people’s chance to talk through ideas, learn about current hospital art trends and share their thoughts.”
Northumbria Healthcare will be showcasing current interior design projects and announcing what is planned.
It takes place at Azure Garden Centre, Cramlington, from 4pm to 6pm. To reserve a place, contact 0191 203 1354 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
