CRAMLINGTON shoppers were given a festive treat as male models wearing only boxer shorts launched the new Pal Joey menswear store in Manor Walks Shopping Centre.
The living mannequins circulated around the centre to encourage shoppers to check out the store’s exclusive new brand of underwear called JO & dep, followed by a clothing range, which will launch fully to the UK market this year and will be available from Pal Joey stores.
Selling fashion labels such as Firetrap, Henleys, Vio and Superdry, Pal Joey is the latest store to open in Manor Walks Shopping Centre, taking over 900 sq ft of retail space, and this store will sell only men’s clothing to plug the gap in demand for more men’s fashion outlets within Cramlington. Women’s fashion may also filter in with unique styles from Europe.
Pal Joey owner John Murray said: “Cramlington is a thriving town and opening a store in Manor Walks is a very exciting move for us.
“At the moment this store is exclusively for men, and it has its own individual look – it’s antique meets contemporary, we’ve scoured the whole of the UK for retro furnishings – and we hope that is will be greatly received by shoppers, as we really are bringing something completely different to the centre.”
Manor Walks Shopping centre general manager Bruno Coppola said: “Pal Joey is a very recognisable brand here in the north east.
“We have responded to our local public demand for more men’s quality retailers, which the centre previously lacked. By listening to our shoppers we are proud to be able to give them what they need and keep shopping local – people no longer need to travel to the city for high street brands.”
Pal Joey was established in 1988. This is the third store to open across the region for the chain, which also has stores in Blyth and Ashington.
