Residents are being invited to take part in a World Cup Challenge at Blyth Sports Centre.
The challenge, which runs from 9am to 5pm, on Saturday, June 16, will see participants swim, run, walk, jog or row for free, all receiving a medal.
It is hoped that by the end of the day when all the distances are added up they will come to 2,500 miles – the distance between Blyth and Russia.
Anyone up for taking part is asked to pre-book an hour’s slot by calling 01670 620200.
Lee Paris, centre manager, said: “We thought this would be a great challenge to get everyone into the World Cup spirit.”
