NEWBIGGIN’S environment is to come under scrutiny as part of a bid to enhance the appeal of the town.
Groups of volunteers and professionals are to be brought together by Newbiggin Town Council to offer suggestions for improvements.
Council chairman Rebecca McCready said the aim of the initiative was to offer an overview of work already under way and still to come.
The locations and issues to be looked at by the groups could include the beach, wildlife, empty buildings, horses, litter and street-cleaning, the council’s latest meeting heard.
It was also decided to set up a working group to look at tourist signs.
