Six adorable puppies have started a journey to become fully qualified police dogs.
Three eight-week-old German Shepherds and three 14-week-old Belgian Malinois have joined Northumbria Police’s Dog Section.
They were bred especially for the role of a general purpose dog and will now be homed with a dog handler from the force, who will guide them through their training.
Over the next three months, they will go through a series of drills that will prime them for a career of tackling criminals and reducing crime across the North East.
You can follow their progress via the Twitter account @NPDogSection, which is using the hashtag #NPpuppywatch.
