SLIDESHOW: Hundreds brave the chilly North Sea for Boxing Day dip

Hundreds of hardy souls braved the chilly North Sea to enjoy the annual Newbiggin Boxing Day Dip.

Almost 400 dippers sprinted into the sea at 11am, watch by spectators on the beach and promenade.
