Slimmers take to catwalk in aid of charity

Super slimmers from the region are becoming models for a celebratory charity fashion show.

Weight Watchers members are joining forces to help one of the club’s leaders, Julie Watson, to support St Oswald’s Hospice.

Julie, from Cramlington, has organised a fashion show at the Centre of Life in Newcastle, on Saturday, November 16, where 26 members will be showing off their new found confidence and celebrating their weight loss success by taking to the catwalk, modelling a range of outfits.

Julie asked some of her most inspirational members to model at the show and celebrate their achievements together with other Weight Watchers members from the area.

The models include Gillian Teasdale who has lost more than seven stone, Helen Collins, who has lost almost six stone, and Karina Forrest who has lost more than four stone.

Julie said: “I have chosen to support St Oswald’s Hospice as I wanted to celebrate member success and support a local cause.

“One of my family members visited the hospice a few times before she died and said it was more like a hotel – she absolutely loved it.

“This event is a fantastic motivation for all the models and members of Weight Watchers, they are a real weight loss inspiration.”

Kicking off with a champagne reception at 7pm, guests will be able to enjoy a fashion show, buffet, auction and raffle to raise money for the hospice.

All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting St Oswald’s Hospice.

Tickets cost £25 and are available by calling Julie on 07738 418864.
