Five social workers from Northumberland have been selected as finalists in the Social Worker of the Year Awards 2015.
Adult social care senior managers David Minto and Simon Murray have been shortlisted for the Team Leader of the Year, Adult Services award.
Adult social care social worker Aissa Rice has been shortlisted for the Newly Qualified Adult Social Worker of the Year award.
They work for Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust which delivers hospital and community health services in Northumberland and North Tyneside and adult social care services in Northumberland in partnership with Northumberland County Council.
They join colleagues from Northumberland County Council Children’s Services, social workers Janice Rainey and Adam Hall who have both been shortlisted for the Team Leader of the Year, Children’s Services prize.
They are among 68 finalists across 15 categories and the winners from each category will compete against each other to be named the ‘Overall Social Worker of the Year 2015’.
Daljit Lally, executive director of wellbeing and community health services at Northumberland County Council, said: “I am delighted that the professionalism and dedication of these social workers has been recognised.
“Their work exemplifies the excellent and high quality social care services delivered across Northumberland on a daily basis.”
The awards will take place in London in November.
