A memorial football match and fun day is being held to raise money to help a county youngster.
The football game will be held at Blyth Town FC’s ground in Newsham on Easter Sunday in memory of Lee Rudd, who passed away recently.
Organiser Anita Rosie said: “Lee was a very active community member, especially in football, and in his memory we are using the day to raise funds for his best friend’s ten-year-old son George Pegg, who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
“The NHS has withdrawn his medication so he has to raise funds to pay for this.
“Already the community has pulled together to make this a fun day.
“Thank you to Paul Hetherington, Kevin Easton, Geordie Pegg, Michael Connors, Wayne Eastern, Kev Easton, Tommy Marshall and Paul and Darren Rudd, who have made this event possible.”
Anyone who can donate prizes for a raffle should call Anita on 07958 746351.
