Car dealer Stratstone BMW Tyneside has given a substantial donation to Blyth Town FC First Team to provide new home strips and training kit.

The company’s car sales leader Dang Vuong previously played for the team when it won the Northern Alliance League for three consecutive seasons.

After a £500,000 investment in its facilities, the club is enjoying its first season in the Northern League, with its ground now meeting the necessary standard.

Head of business at Stratstone BMW David Guy said: “We are delighted to be associated with Blyth Town FC First Team.

“To see the investment, facilities and infrastructure that has been put into the ground since last year is impressive and exciting.

“We hope that with our additional support and donation, we can help Blyth Town FCFT go all the way up the football pyramid, and we are proud to be on that journey with them.”

Club chairman Barry Elliott said: “Not only are we extremely grateful for the support Stratstone BMW has given us, but we are proud to have it as part of our extended team of support.”

He added: “We are grateful to all local businesses who are supporting us, programme sponsors, pitch sponsors, and to all of Blyth Town First Team’s fans who come to the games.”

Tickets for home games are £6 on the gate.
