Residents in Northumberland are urged to put their best feet forward to raise funds for the fight against children’s cancer.
Viscount Ridley is opening up the Blagdon Estate near Cramlington for the North Of England Children’s Cancer Research Fund’s (NECCR) annual sponsored Big Walk later this month.
Taking part in the event will be best-selling author Bill Bryson.
But people are urged to sign up quickly if they wish to join in as the walk is limited to 500 participants.
NECCR chairman Chris Peacock said: “The Big Walk is a wonderful event through the beautiful surroundings of the Blagdon Estate. We are very fortunate that the Viscount opens up the estate, which is usually closed to the public, for our event each year.”
It takes place on Saturday, September 19. Entry costs £10 adults, free for children under ten. All funds go towards researching treatment of childhood cancers.
