Store helps raise £1,955 for charity

Staff at an Ashington store are celebrating after helping raise nearly £2,000 for charity.

The Original Factory Shop raised £1,955 for Guide Dogs thanks to its ‘Make a Difference in Your Community’ charity campaign.

Colleagues at the store supported the charity with a range of fundraising activities, including fancy dress, raffles and sponsored events.

A store spokesperson said: “The store has all worked hard to raise this money for Guide Dogs, and as it’s such a deserving cause everyone in the town has been right behind us.

“We’re really grateful for all our customers’ support. Let’s hope these efforts will make a difference to those who need it in the community.”

Following an appeal to the community to nominate local causes, The Original Factory Shop Ashington selected Guide Dogs as their charity partner in January 2013.

The Original Factory Shop launched its ‘Make a Difference in Your Community’ campaign in January 2010 and has since raised more than £500,000 across the UK.

This year The Original Factory Shop will be partnering with a national charity. Customers can vote for their preferred charity via the retailer’s Facebook page until March 27.
