STRIKE: A call-out to miners' wives
The project will look at those who went into politics or continued the fight against social injustice instead of returning to their previous role of housewives, recording their accounts and photographing each person standing outside their open front door, symbolising opening the door to change and allowing it into their lives after the strike ended.
I believe the accounts of the women involved in strike are important and need to be preserved for future generations to hear and remember our industrial heritage.
