Students have been showing their flower power to claim awards at a top national show.
Six Northumberland College floristry students organised displays at The Harrogate Spring Flower Show – the biggest exhibition of its kind in the country.
This year’s student category was named All The Right Moves, with participants tasked to create a floral display representing dance.
Northumberland representative Anne Dodds not only won first place for her Can Can display, but she also took the overall student award, and her college teammate Kelly Neesam took third place for her Samba exhibit.
The team also ran the Floral Hub on the first day of the show, offering visitors the chance to make their own buttonholes and bows, or arrange a spring display.
Course team leader Meg Ellison said: “I am so proud of all of our students and what they have achieved.
“The Floral Hub was also a great success and to see visitors walking around with bows and displays we had helped them to create was great.”
