Pupils took part in their annual sports day with a twist.
Children at Ringway Primary School, in Choppington, donned their hard hats and hi-vis jackets for the annual sporting event before breaking up for the summer holidays.
The theme of the event marked the construction of a new classroom on site.
Headteacher Hazel Scott said: “The children really had great day with lots of fun they enjoyed the safety talk earlier in the term, and this was another fun way of re-emphasising the importance of being safe on and near a building site.
“Team Build Construction are well on their way now with our new class room and we are all looking forward to seeing the finished product.”
Before the event, the pupils and staff were able to watch an 80-tonne crane manoeuvre sections of the new building into place.
Gary Davis, managing director at Team Build Construction, said “Work is progressing well at the school, and we are delighted to be given an opportunity to inspire young potential builders with our school talks and supporting their events. We aim to delight our client and focus on quality of delivery.”
The new classroom also includes a meeting room as well as fully accessible toilet.
