Supermarket raise thousands for charity

STAFF at a Blyth supermarket have raised over £2,600 for charity.

Iceland, in Market Street, raised £2,625 for Alzheimer’s Research UK after holding a number of fundraising events, including charity walks, a quiz night and a sponsored climb of St Mary’s Lighthouse in Whitley Bay.

Company owner Malcolm Warner also donated a large sum of money.

Store representative Rowan Edwards said: “Our total was raised through the hard work and effort of our colleagues.”
