Families looking to get outdoors with their children this summer are being invited to take part in a special woodland activity trail near Morpeth.

The garden walk designed by service users at Hepscott Park Horticultural Skills Unit (HSU) is a treasure hunt with a difference, that encourages local families to explore a variety of local wildlife onsite whilst trying to solve a mystery word.

Open daily and with free admission throughout the summer, the walk includes lots of exciting points of interest to discover such as an insect house, bird boxes and a wormery.

Those taking part must find hidden letters placed around the site to form a mystery word to complete the trail.

Pamela Robson, assistant manager of Hepscott Park Horticultural Skills Unit, said: “If you’re looking to take part in some outdoor fun with your children this summer then our Hepscott Garden Walk could be just what you’re looking for.

“Families taking part will be able to explore the beautiful woodland location we have at Hepscott Park.”
