Kind-hearted people are being sought to take part in a street sleep to raise money for a local homeless charity.
Making Winter Warmer For Those Without came to the aid of Adam Blythe when he was attacked while living rough in Blyth this year.
And now the charity is calling on people in south east Northumberland to back them once again in a sponsored street sleep to raise money for the charity and awareness of the work they do.
The street sleep will take place on World Homeless Day – Friday, October 10 – from 8pm in the centre of Newcastle, and will give people the chance to sleep ‘rough’ on the street for a night to experience what homeless people have to go through.
Kerry Lister-Pattinson from the charity said: “It will hopefully give those taking part a genuine experience of what it must be like to spend a night sleeping rough.
“It will let them appreciate how much it means to the people on the streets, when we come along and offer them some support and some food.
“We are raising money by getting sponsors and hopefully raising awareness about what we do and the people we help.”
