An Ashington teenager is flying the flag for her country at the European Karate Championships.
Niamh Duddridge, 16, who trains at Ashington Shotokan Karate Club, will represent England for the third time this weekend in Greece.
She said: “I was so happy when I found out I was selected for the team. I am most looking forward to competing for my country.”
The Ashington High School pupil has been involved in the sport for ten years and is a Second Dan.
In addition to training at her home club, she is part of the Karate Union of England squad, attending monthly sessions in Liverpool.
She has previously represented England at championships in Switzerland and Poland.
Ashington instructor Jill Kelly said: “I think Niamh will progress into the Senior England Squad.”
