Teenagers bridge generation gap

MAY we thank Hirst Academy Church of England School for hosting us – The Golden Age Forum (formerly Older Age Forum).

The venue was arranged by co-hosts the CVS, Station Road, Ashington.

It was the teenagers’ ‘story week’ and they wanted to hear our experience of schooling and work occupations as we got older.

Us ‘oldies’ enjoyed the involvement, the liaison with the younger generation, and what their aspirations were at that particular moment in time.

We feel and would be delighted if Ashington-Bede-Bedlington academies also liaised more with older forums, Age UK or similar organisations.

We would also welcome Northumberland College to contemplate the same.

It really is a get together of literature/heritage/history experience for everyone.

Very enjoyable and spans the generation gap with more understanding.
