There was a n-ice surprise for schoolchildren as their delicious dessert design was delivered by a Blyth business.
Year 2 pupils at Whitley Lodge First School were invited to come up with a new ice cream flavour as part of a project about the seaside.
And staff at Coastline Fish and Chip shop in Blyth, which also owns the neighbouring Cicarrelli’s ice cream parlour, agreed to judge the entries.
Jordan Thompson won with his candy floss and popping candy sprinkles idea, and Cicarrelli’s made a huge batch of the ice cream and took it into the school to test.
Teacher Sharon Train said: “We are so grateful to Coastline for this fabulous opportunity.”
