Thieves break into council depot

Police are appealing for witnesses after a council depot was burgled.

Thieves broke into the secure Northumberland Council Council compound at East View, Choppington, between 6pm on Wednesday, and 6.30am yesterday.

They damaged the window of a Ford Transit and stole a hydraulic breaker and leaf blower/strimmer and Stihl saw before leaving unseen.

Anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 156 of 02/03/17 or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
