Thieves stole property from a visitor attraction in Northumberland.
Police are appealing for information after the Northumberland Wildlife Trust visitor centre at Northumberlandia, in Cramlington, was targeted.
Thieves forced their way into the visitor centre and stole food items from the cafe area before leaving.
The stolen property was found abandoned near Fisher Lane, where it is believed the offenders may have left in a vehicle.
The incident was reported to police at 5am today (Wednesday).
Inspector Paul Truscott said: “This is a popular location for both local visitors and tourists from further afield and attracts people into the area. Now we’re asking for the public’s help to catch the people responsible for this burglary.
“We’d ask for anyone who may have witnessed the burglary, or who saw the vehicle they used, or who knows who is responsible to contact officers.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting reference number 125 of 24/08/16 or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
