Thousands pay tribute to war heroes at Remembrance services
Thousands of people paid their respects to men and women who gave their life for their country.
Remembrance Services were held around south east Northumberland last Friday and on Sunday.
Among the main services which place, people stood in silence at war memorials in Blyth, Ashington, Bedlington, Cramlington and Newbiggin.
Parades of current and former service personnel took place, while dignitaries were on hand to lay wreaths at the memorials.
The ‘Last Post’ was played while prayers were also given.
A crowd of more than 5,000 people attended the service at Ridley Park, Blyth, while there were similar numbers at the service in Bedlington on Sunday.
Attendees at the Ashington service faced a different route on the parade to the war memorial, due to the works in Station Road.
