Thousands turn out for Vintage Festival

Thousands of villagers and visitors descended on Newbiggin over the Easter weekend to sample the first ever Vintage Festival.

There was a classic cars rally that paraded through the town on Easter Monday.

And a vintage wedding fair in the refurbished St Mark’s Church. Other venues saw traders selling vintage inspired collectibles, fashion and jewellery.

On the Saturday the crowds on the seafront enjoyed the kite festival, children’s fair rides and activities at the RNLI station. There was also street food on offer from a selection of stalls.

On the Saturday evening there was a Black and Gold Ball inspired by the heyday of Hollywood glamour.

Specialist swing DJ Andy Lewis led Strictly Speakeasy, a live swing band.

And experienced dancers were on hand to help newbies take their first steps on the dance floor in the Sports and Community Centre.
