A south east Northumberland firm which has helped rescue an historic barn has received a national accolade.
Blyth-based Team Force Restoration is a building conservation company led by master stonemason Brendan Teasdale.
It was the main contractor on a restoration project at the 18th century Black Barn at Tow House near Bardon Mill.
The Grade II listed building is the only structure in England to have retained original heather thatch, and the project has seen the Blyth firm win the heritage category of the national Construction Excellence awards.
The company has already won regional Construction Excellence awards for work on Lindisfarne Priory in 2011 and in 2013 on the lighthouse and medieval monastic cell on Coquet Island, and was commended for restoration work at Seaton Delaval Hall.
