Green fingers are being crossed for Cramlington in this year’s Northumbria in Bloom competition.

Cramlington Town Council hosted the judges recently, taking them on a guided tour that included the Village, the poppy bed roundabout, Alexandra Park and Northumberlandia.

Local volunteer groups and businesses also entered the competition including St Nicholas Church, Mayfield Cemetery, The Blagdon Arms, The Green, John The Clerk, Jubilee Lodge, The Welcome Chapel, Surveyors House Garden, Manor Walks and West View Allotments.

Town council chair, Jean Whisson, said: “We’re delighted to be in the running again in Northumbria in Bloom. It will be stiff competition, but Cramlington is blooming and the community and residents have really got involved in making it look so lovely.”

Results will be announced in September. Visit for more details
