Town ready to rock over the bank holiday

A major music event is returning to Bedlington this weekend, offering two days of live entertainment and community events while raising money for charity.

Now in its third year, ‘BedRock’ is growing in strength, and preparations are under way for the event, which will run over the bank holiday weekend of Saturday, May 24, and Sunday, May 25.

Organiser Colin Patterson said: “Venues will once again throw open their doors to host a weekend of top class entertainment, all in aid of local charities.

“From rock to acoustic we aim to cover all tastes in live music, making this once again another great weekend for the community.

“Saturday evening will see a fashion show at Bedlington Community Centre hosted by The Frock Exchange and a night of laughs at The Red Lion, which will be hosting a comedy store with five top class comics on the bill.

“Sunday will see Bedlington’s Front Street throw open its doors to the sound of live music from 2pm until late.”
