An officer has been appointed to help a town team link with local business and community groups.
Funded by Northumberland County Council, Karen Walker has taken up the position of business and community engagement officer for Blyth Town Team.
Steve Bradley, town team chairman, said: “We are really pleased with the appointment of Karen, who brings with her a sound understanding of not only the public sector but also vast experience working with charities and for private organisations.
“Karen joins the town team at a point where we’ve become the first nation-wide to gain charity status, and as such her involvement will mean the beginning of a push for greater community involvement in the regeneration of Blyth.”
Her first task is to develop the idea of a ‘Youth Market’ in the town centre.
Anyone interested in being involved in the scheme can call Karen on (01670) 542852 for more details.
