A Northumberland trade event which attracted 130 traders this year is returning again.
The ‘Meet the Maker, Meet the Buyer’ event, being organised by Northumberland County Council, will boost the sale of locally made goods, and provide an opportunity for the makers of food and drink, arts and crafts and also musicians to exhibit their wares and network with potential buyers.
The event will be held at Blyth Sports Centre, at Bolam Park, Blyth on Thursday, February 26, and bookings are now being taken.
Jane Jackson, from Brightseed Textiles, said: “Meet the maker gave us the opportunity to meet and speak to the right people in the National Trust.
“We’ve now got our products in several of their local outlets and have had a very successful first season.”
Councillor Val Tyler, policy board member for community infrastructure and culture at Northumberland County Council, said: “In these tough economic times, everyone needs to seek out new business opportunities.
“There are a lot of visitors who are looking for items made in Northumberland and this type of event is a great opportunity for businesses to promote their products not just locally but to the wider region.
“I would urge businesses who want to expand to come and get involved.”
Makers can book a table/space for £20 by emailing Dawn Goodwill-Evans at firstname.lastname@example.org or by visiting www.northumberland.gov.uk/meet
The event will take place on Thursday, Februrary 26, at Blyth Sports Centre at Bolam Park.
