TRAFFIC: The problem is obvious

A census was carried out for Cowpen Road, next to the large Asda store.

I could not help but think what a waste of money it was when it is obvious that there’s a problem with traffic on that section of road.

The council is thinking of widening Cowpen Road to ease traffic congestion.

I find the main problem is drivers cutting in, or going full circle around the roundabout, adding to the traffic, instead of waiting in turn.

If you get rid of the two sets of lights in Cowpen Road and put a roundabout into the industrial estate, you would get free-flowing traffic.

New housing is being built behind Asda, yet only one road going in and out of it.

Why not use the end of Tynedale Drive as another road into the estate to ease congestion?

This work should be thought through and not made into more of a problem, as seen in other areas in Blyth.
