The A1 has reopened following an earlier incident involving a tanker.
A fire was initially reported but it was later confirmed to be a tyre blowout.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At 8.30am today (Monday) officers were alerted to a tanker that suffered a damaged tyre on the A1 near Felton, Northumberland.
“The road is now clear.”
