Nationally, Waterloo Station remains in top spot for the total number of passenger entries and exits with an incredible 94.2 million in a year.
At the other end of the scale, there were three stations with fewer than 100 entries and exits. The least used stations were Denton and Stanlow & Thornton with each only having an estimated 46 entries and exits during the entire year while Reddish South had 60.
But what about Northumberland?

1. Acklington Railway Station
Acklington Railway Station is one of the least used stations in the country.
Figures reveal at had just 320 entries and exits in 2018/19 compared with 372 the previous year - a fall of 14%.

2. Pegswood Railway Station
Pegswood Railway Station has seen a significant increase in passenger numbers.
Figures show that station entries and exits were 2,364 in 2018/19 compared to 1,670 the previous year - a rise of 41.6%.

3. Chathill Railway Station
Chathill Railway Station is only served by two trains per day.
However, figures show the number of entries and exits was 2.546 in 2018/19 compared to 2,162 the previous year - an increase of 17.8%.

4. Widdrington Railway Station
Widdrington Station has seen a healthy rise in passenger numbers.
Figures show there were 4,180 entries and exits in 2018/19 compared to 3,574 the previous year - an increase of 17%.
