A development trust is calling on members of the public to help make a difference to their town by casting a vote to help them win £25,000 in funding.
Ashington Community Development Trust is raising funds to bring the former Co-op department store into community use.
The trust has been shortlisted for entry into the Aviva Community Fund competition, and are now looking for votes to help them win, so they can turn the first and second floors of the Central Arcade into a venue for community use.
Alan Mackay, business development officer at the trust, said: “This iconic building has stood for 90 years and been central to the lives of residents.”
