Trust’s thanks for a marathon effort

I WOULD like to say a huge thank you to the 150 runners from across the UK who took part in this year’s Virgin London Marathon and ran in support of The Children’s Trust and, have to date, raised an incredible £250,000 for the charity.

Sponsorship money raised from the marathon and other fundraising events help to enhance the lives of some of the UK’s most severely disabled children.

The Children’s Trust is a national charity, which provides care, therapy and education for children with multiple disabilities and complex health needs, and rehabilitation to children with an acquired brain injury.

The trust has places in many of the UK’s key running events, and we would love you to join the team at one of the events: Asics British 10K, Adidas 5K Women’s Challenge, Great North and Great South Runs, Royal Parks Half-Marathon and British 10K. We also have limited places for the New York and Berlin marathons later in the year.

If you prefer cycling to running, we have two events in September which should appeal: London to Paris or, a little nearer home, London to Canterbury.

For the more adventurous we have the ultimate challenge of overseas treks in September and October: Kilimanjaro and Peru, with treks to Ethiopia in 2012.

Finally, if you would like to run for The Children’s Trust in next year’s Virgin London Marathon 2012, please apply on our website as soon as possible so that we can contact you.

If you are planning to run in costume, or fancy dress or aiming to achieve a record to be included in the Guinness Book of Records, we would love to hear from you.
