US comedian to headline four gigs

A US comedian who has appeared on a string of prime-time television shows is set to headline four Northumberland gigs next month.

Punch Drunk Comedy has secured Reginald D Hunter for its run of charity events.

Best known for appearances on TV shows Live at the Apollo, 8 out of 10 Cats, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Have I Got News for You and Stephen Fry’s BBC flagship show QI, Hunter has found just as much success and recognition for his smash-hit world tours.

The gigs make up a five-day event run, which consists of a Kids’ Club show on Sunday, June 19, in Blyth, followed by the Hunter-headlined adults’ shows at Newsham Side Club, Blyth, on June 20, The Netherton, Bedlington, on June 21, The Whitehouse, Ashington, on June 22, and The Village Club, Cramlington, on June 23.
