Police are appealing for witnesses after a spate of criminal damage to caravans at a site in Northumberland.

The vandals struck at North East Caravans, North Seaton in Ashington between 7.44pm and 10.20pm on Saturday, June 20.

Two offenders entered the storage yard of the site and up to 14 caravans were attacked causing considerable damage. The intruders gained entry into a number of caravans and searched them, others were damaged with windows smashed.

At this time is not clear if anything was stolen during the incident.

The offenders, two teenage boys, are described as: one aged 14-16 years, 5 feet 6” tall, slim build with short dark hair, wearing a light coloured patterned t-shirt and dark coloured bottoms; and the second aged 12-14 years, 5 feet 4” tall, slim build with short mousey hair, wearing a hooded top and dark bottoms.

Police are appealing for witnesses anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact police. Officers also want to hear from anyone who may recognise the youths from this description to call police.
