OPINION is being sought on the county’s transport plans for the next five years.
Northumberland County Council’s draft Public Transport Strategy 2011-16 is now available for scrutiny.
All county councillors, town and parish councils, relevant user groups, voluntary organisations and public transport operators are among those that will be sent a copy of the document.
The strategy details what passengers should expect when using public transport in Northumberland.
The county’s executive member responsible for infrastructure and environment, Coun Isabel Hunter, pictured, said: “This is a comprehensive strategy which sets out our plans for public transport for the next five years.
“We are asking everyone with an interest in public transport in Northumberland to share their views on it with us.
“While we may not be able to put all suggestions into action because of limited available funds, we still want to hear from you.”
The strategy outlines how bus and rail services in Northumberland will be provided.
It clarifies how the council expects to work with transport operators and communities to meet the needs of residents, commuters and visitors.
Anyone interested in viewing the draft strategy can do so by logging on to the council’s website at www.northumberland.gov.uk or you can obtain a copy by calling 0845 600 6400.
