Volunteers turned out to help clean up part of Seaton Sluice.
They made a sweep of the area, either side of the cycle path, between the pub and the bridge over the Seaton Burn, collecting a significant amount of litter over a relatively short period.
Coun Susan Dungworth, who joined the volunteers, said: “It’s amazing to see what a big difference a relatively small amount of effort from an enthusiastic group of volunteers can make.
“A big thank you to all of you who joined in, especially to our two younger volunteers and to our one and only canine companion ‘Spud’.
“We hope just as many people will join us again for our next community litter pick.”
