People in the north east wanting to get out and about, burn off the Christmas calories and enjoy the region’s outdoors this winter are being invited to join in with the Ramblers’ Festival of Winter Walks.
To start the new year, on Sunday, January 5, there will be a leisurely walk to enjoy the landform sculpture Northumberlandia near Cramlington, starting at 10.30am in the car park.
Ramblers chief executive Benedict Southworth said: “There is something wonderful about walking over the festive season. Our walks are as popular as ever after 25 years, so put on your winter coats, wrap up warm and join us again as we head out to enjoy the season the way we know best, on our feet.”
