The Northumberlandia landform will be used as a special site for a charity fundraising walk later this month.

The ‘Lady of the North’, near Cramlington will welcome supporters of Maggie’s Cancer Centre.

Centre fundraising manager Kelly Knighting-Wykes said: “Northumberlandia is a fantastic sculpture designed by Charles Jenks, Maggie’s husband.

“We hope to sign up as many people as possible to join us at this fantastic event and help raise as much as we can so we can continue to offer support to our visitors when they need us most.”

The event takes place on Saturday April 26, where those taking part will get the chanmce to take part in the family friendly 4k walk, which will start at 9.30am.

A family registration fee is £20, or individuals can join in for £6, and Maggie’s is asking walkers to raise what they can in sponsorship.
