POLICE are appealing for information after a spate of thefts in Morpeth.

A bike and hi-visibility jacket were stolen from a car port at Buller’s Green overnight on Wednesday, April 3.

Two bikes were then stolen from an outbuilding in Buller’s Green, where the property from the first theft was recovered.

A shed was broken into in Low Ford in Mitford but nothing was stolen, while items were taken from another shed in Mitford Road.

Enquiries into the offences are ongoing, although police believe they are linked.

The two stolen bikes are a grey and white Carrera mountain bike and a black and white Hard Rock 12 Specialized bike.

Neighbourhood Inspector Dave Simpson said: “We’re carrying out extra patrols in the area to reassure residents and would advise them to ensure all their homes, vehicles and outbuildings are locked and secure at all times. They should also considering fitting an alarm, security lighting and CCTV.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 ext 69191.
