The last operational Vulcan bomber made a dramatic farewell flight in the misty skies over Northumberland this afternoon.
The Vulcan XH558 was flying a circuit across northern England and Scotland today from its base in Doncaster, while another circuit around southern England and Wales is planned for tomorrow (Sunday).
It flew over Newcastle Airport before heading north, following the route of the A1 past Morpeth, swooping low over Eshott Airfield and skirting Alnwick, before flying off to East Fortune in Scotland.
The flight path took the bomber near to Eglingham, Chillingham, Chatton, Ford, Etal and Norham.
